Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 30, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Counseling Unconditionally (“we”, “us”, “our”) handles information collected through our website at counselingunconditionally.com.

This policy is about our website

This policy covers information collected through this website. It is not our Notice of Privacy Practices, which is a separate document describing how we handle protected health information (PHI) in the course of treatment. If you become a client, you will receive our Notice of Privacy Practices separately. Clinical records are governed by that notice and by HIPAA, not by this policy.

Information you give us

When you complete a form on this website, we collect the information you enter. Depending on the form, this may include your name, email address, and phone number, along with anything you choose to write in a message field.

Please do not include detailed health information in a website form. Website forms are not a secure channel for clinical information. Tell us only what we need in order to contact you, and we will move the conversation somewhere appropriate.

If you arrive from an online advertisement, our forms also record technical details about that visit, such as the campaign and search term that brought you here and the page you landed on. We use this to understand which advertising is working. It is not linked to any clinical record.

Information collected automatically

We use Plausible Analytics to understand how the site is used, for example which pages are visited and how people arrive. Plausible does not use cookies and does not collect personal information or track visitors across websites.

We also use Google Ads conversion tracking on some pages to measure the results of our advertising. This may set cookies and may share information with Google. You can manage Google’s use of advertising data at adssettings.google.com, and you can opt out of personalised advertising at optout.aboutads.info.

Our web host records standard server logs, including IP addresses, for security and reliability.

How we use your information

  • To respond to your enquiry and arrange care
  • To administer appointments and communicate with you about them
  • To understand which advertising and pages bring people to us
  • To keep the website secure and working properly
  • To meet our legal and professional obligations

We do not sell your personal information.

Who we share information with

We share information only with service providers who help us operate, and only as far as needed to do so. These include our website host, our email provider, our analytics provider, and our scheduling and records system. We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or where professional or ethical obligations require it, including situations involving risk of harm.

Other websites

Our scheduling is handled on a separate platform, and this website links to it. Once you leave our site, the privacy policy of that platform applies to what happens there. We are not responsible for the practices of other websites we link to.

How long we keep information

Enquiries submitted through the website are retained only as long as needed to respond and to keep reasonable business records. Clinical records, if you become a client, are retained according to Kentucky law and our professional obligations, and are covered by our Notice of Privacy Practices rather than this policy.

Your choices

You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete website enquiry data. Contact us using the details below and we will respond in a reasonable time. Some information may need to be retained where the law or our professional obligations require it.

Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies. Doing so will not stop you using this website.

Children

This website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information through the website from children under 13. We do provide therapy to children and adolescents; that care is arranged by a parent or guardian and is covered by our Notice of Privacy Practices.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect information collected through this website, including encryption in transit. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

In an emergency

This website is not a crisis service and is not monitored continuously. If you are in a mental health emergency, call or text 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, or dial 911.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
