How AutPlay Therapy Works

At Counseling Unconditionally, we believe that every child deserves to be seen, heard, and supported in ways that honor their unique way of being in the world. Rather than expecting your child to talk through their challenges like mini-adults, AutPlay provides them the opportunity to process through play, creativity, and connection. Play is a safe and meaningful way for children to explore emotions, develop regulation skills, and build relationships at their own pace.

Our Louisville AutPlay therapists integrate elements of play therapy, behavioral therapy, relational development, and emotional regulation to create sessions that are both structured and flexible. Children are encouraged to take the lead during play, helping them discover that their voice matters and that they can trust their own instincts and problem-solving abilities. We value the connection between your child, you, and us, and believe that the entire family unit should be involved in the therapeutic process.

What Your Child Will Gain

  • Confidence in their ability to solve problems
  • Healthy expression of emotions through play
  • Increased self-esteem and self-acceptance
  • Better emotional regulation and coping skills
  • Processing of difficult experiences at their own pace
  • A trusting therapeutic relationship that models unconditional acceptance
